Research and Conference Funding
IPS GRANTS FOR STUDENT RESEARCH AND KNOWLEDGE DISSEMINATION
The IPS wishes to support student research and knowledge dissemination in all areas of psychology through an annual funding envelope.
The applicant / award recipient (or in the case of joint submissions, the applicants / award recipients) must be a graduate student affiliate in good standing, of the IPS; enrolled full time in a psychology graduate program at a provincially or territorially chartered Canadian University. The applicant’s/award recipient’s direct supervisor must also be a member in good standing of the IPS. Funding up to $1,000 is available per project.
The adjudication committee will consider the following in evaluating proposals: overall research approach/methodology, feasibility of the research and the environment in which conducted, originality of research, impact of research, and applicant’s qualifications. Applications are due October of each year; check the IPS’s website in September for information the deadline and application requirements.
The IPS is pleased to provide 4 awards in the amount of $500 each to the organizers of a psychology conference that has a specific focus on undergraduate psychology students. Applications (include link to application here) for funding in a given year must be received by December 1st of the previous year. Completed applications should be sent to the attention of the IPS’s Science Director.
PSYCHOLOGY FOUNDATION OF CANADA
Through an agreement with the IPS and the IPS Foundation, the Psychology Foundation of Canada oversees the IPS’s charitable activities. Information on the awards (and application deadlines) overseen by the PFC can be found on the PFC website.
